The Wire Room Supervisor is responsible for managing 8-10 employees on two shifts, ensuring all orders and other responsibilities are completed in an accurate and efficient manner. The Wire Room is a fast paced environment that cuts custom lengths of wire daily, sometimes after normal work hours and regularly with time contstraints. Attention to detail is an absolute and the ability to handle large complex orders is a must. Communicating with our sales and management team frequently is imporant in order to to meet the customer's order requirements.
-Ensure all wire room associates are trained properly to eliminate customer order errors.
-Dispatch orders based on priority, complexity, size of order, and wire room associate’s capabilities in an efficient manner that enables the RDC to meet requested deadlines.
-Guarantee all equipment and machinery is operated safely and in compliance with EES safety regulations.
-Use Personnel Management to track employee’s attendance, time clock, and performance evaluations.
-Implement new policies and procedures as directed by Picking Manager in a timely, effective, and consistent manner.
-Ensure all daily responsibilities are completed, including restocking the wire on wire cutting racks, housekeeping, maintenance of equipment, etc.
-Coach and encourage department associates in a way that promotes growth and development.
-Communicate with and provide excellent customer service to stores/sales staff to ensure all tickets are processed accurately.
-Wire cutting experience strongly preferred and knowledge of electrical industry beneficial.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific processes repeatedly.
-Comfortable with the use of a computer and tablet.
-Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
-Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
-Ability to perform duties with minimal or no supervision with time constraints.
-Professional and courteous attitude.
-An energetic team player and able to work with diverse personalities.
-Forklift and other heavy machinery experience required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to utilize a computer, tablet, and telephone. Ability to bend, climb, push, and pull, including the ability to maneuver at heights and in tight or small places. Ability to routinely lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 50 lbs and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 75 lbs. Must be willing and able to operate a forklift in a safe manner after training.
